Legend has it

Achouffe is in the Ardennes, where they tell of the horse Bayard. He was a magical bay, strong enough to carry the four sons of Aymon at once. When Charlemagne wanted rid of him, he had a large stone tied to the horse's neck and pushed him into the river. But Bayard smashed the stone with his hooves, escaped and lived forever after in the woods. Outside Dinant stands Bayard Rock, said to have been split by his hooves.

A young one
Cherry Chouffe arrived in 2017, at 8%, and is refermented both in the bottle and in the keg.
The siblings
The same brewery makes La Chouffe and Houblon Chouffe, which we also pour, and the brown McChouffe.
The start
Achouffe began in 1982 with a 49-litre mash tun. Duvel Moortgat bought the brewery in 2006.

Can I taste several beers at once?

Yes, with the beer box you pick six beers from our 24 taps, served in smaller tasting glasses. The staff are happy to help you put your flight together.

Do you serve every beer in its proper glass?

Yes, just like in Belgium. Each brewery designs glassware to lift precisely their beer, and almost every beer here is served in its proper glass.

Does the beer selection change, or is it always the same?

Both: taps 1-16 are our permanent draughts, always on, while taps 17-24 are rotating guest taps, each beer stays on until the keg runs dry, then a new one takes its place. New bottles also arrive in the bottle cellar all the time. See what's pouring right now →
