Taste profile
Legend has it
Liefmans' own story begins in the 17th century, when Jacobus Liefmans set up as a brewer in Oudenaarde. Local farmers are said to have brought their surplus cherries to the brewery and been given beer in exchange. And the brewery claims the microflora that makes the beer unique is found only in Oudenaarde. Nowhere else in the world, they say, is there 'the good air' to make Liefmans.
Beer stories travel from brewery to bar to guest, and rarely shrink on the way.
