The story
Rochefort is brewed inside the walls of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy in Wallonia, one of only a handful of breweries in the world allowed to carry the Trappist mark. The monks have brewed there since 1595.
The house is known for its three beers: 6, 8 and 10. Triple Extra is the newest of the family, from 2020, its recipe taken from an extra-strong ale the abbey brewed a hundred years earlier. Pale gold rather than dark, with citrus, hops and something floral, and smoother than its siblings. The draught version only arrived in 2024, released in deliberately small volumes.
