La Trappe Dubbel

The story

The same abbey as the blond on tap 5. La Trappe is brewed within the walls at Koningshoeven outside Tilburg, one of the few Trappist breweries outside Belgium, and carries the protected 'Authentic Trappist Product' label.

The dubbel is the dark one of the family: chestnut brown under the head, with caramel, raisin and dark bread from the malt, and a finish drier than the colour suggests. Guest taps 17-24 rotate continually, each beer stays on until the keg runs dry; ask at the bar what's pouring tonight.
