Boon Framboise
Brouwerij Boon, Lembeek
Raspberry lambic from Lembeek, with a full 300 grams of fresh raspberries per litre.
Legend has it
The raspberry has its legend from Greece. As the story goes, raspberries were once white. The nymph Ida had been entrusted with the baby Zeus, and while picking berries for him she pricked her finger on a thorn. Her blood stained the fruit red, and red it has stayed ever since. The raspberry's botanical name, Rubus idaeus, is said to recall her, or Mount Ida, where the fruit was said to grow in abundance.
Beer stories travel from brewery to bar to guest, and rarely shrink on the way.
